William H. Mullahy, retired Navy veteran
William H. “Bill” Mullahy, 88, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Bill was born in Newton, Mass., and was a proud Navy veteran. He lived in New Jersey for many years before relocating to Lincoln with his wife, Dorothy. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service, which spanned the later years of the Korean War and extended through the Vietnam War. He served part of that time at sea on the USS Richard L. Page and received an Antarctica Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1981 with the rank of ships' serviceman first class.
After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Bill, not one to sit still, worked for 10 years for the City of Rehoboth in parking enforcement as a meter reader.
He was a loving husband with a sweet smile, a quiet man who left this world too soon.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dorothy (Maag) Mullahy; a daughter, Debra Garrion and her family; a stepson, Charles R. Murphy and his family; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by three stepchildren, Patricia Simone, Kathy King and Thomas Murphy.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 1, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Milton.
