Visiting Angels awarded for compassionate service

Visiting Angels of Sussex Delaware has awarded Emma Mills of Millsboro and Alice Pitts of Seaford the company's Caregiver Of the Month recognition and honor for July. The company helps seniors and disabled adults remain independent and in their own homes for a better quality of life.

David Forman, president of Visiting Angels said, "Emma is a true professional with a gift for serving. She spent many overnights in July attending to a care recipient throughout his final weeks of life, earning praise from the family while continuing to handle a full case load of additional clients. Ms. Mills served in the National Guard for 25 years, a testimony says Forman of her commitment to others.

Alice Pitts also attended to a care recipient throughout his final weeks, making him comfortable in his own home where he passed on surrounded by friends and family. Forman says, in her short time with the Agency, Ms. Pitts has become one of the Agency's most highly regarded employees. "Alice has repeatedly worked with some of our clients who need the most hands-on care, and has exceeded the expectations of even our most discerning clients," Forman said.

Visiting Angels offer services from a couple of hours to 24/7 care, providing assistance with personal hygiene, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands and appointments, and compassionate companionship.

Forman adds that  Mills and Pitts are among the company's many "angels" with extensive experience and expertise in Alzheimer's, dementia, and stroke care.
