Sussex County Red Hats support Go Red for Women

October 18, 2012

Sussex County chapter members of the Red Hat Society supported Go Red for Women at an annual September luncheon hosted by Beebe Medical Center at Baywood Greens.  A red hat purchased from the society's “hatquarters” in California is donated to the Chinese auction in the name of the Crowned Jewels Queens Chapter and its members each year.

All women who attend are requested by the organizers to wear red outfits. and it has been the tradition the RHS members also wear their red hats to show  their support. This year also in attendance were Red Hat Society Ambassador BJ Young from Delaware and Ambassador Marlene Snyder from Pennsylvania.

The Red Hat Society encourages its 256,000 members worldwide to support the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement on National Wear Red Day, held in February each year.

The Go Red Committee thanked all members of the Red Hat Society for their support of the American Heart Association's program. For information regarding the Red Hat Society contact Young at bjy324@verizon.net or go to www.RedHatSociety.com.
