Access has been restored to Primehook Beach for residents and emergency services via Broadkill Road to North Bay Shore Drive. State transportation officials have arranged access to Primehook Beach over private property until Prime Hook Road can be reopened.
The road has been closed numerous times by storms and high tides over the past four years and was damaged again by Hurricane Sandy.
The condition of Prime Hook Road is being assessed. It will be repaired and reopened as soon as possible, but no date has been established, said DelDOT spokesman Robert King.
