Sussex Academy shows community spirit with holiday giving
December 21, 2012
The students and staff at the Sussex Academy of Arts and Sciences in Georgetown have been busy showing community spirit this holiday season. More than 700 items were collected for the food drive and delivered to Georgetown food banks. The Giving Tree was used to collect supplies to stock homes for the Seaford Rotary House Project, which provides temporary housing for families in transition. A coin drive was conducted for Hurricane Sandy relief, and the money collected is going to the Monmouth Beach School in Monmouth Beach, N.J., which was severely damaged in the hurricane.
Community service is an integral part of the design principles at SAAS and continues throughout the year.
