Millville by the Sea attracts hundreds of visitors

Potential buyers flock to new development south of Route 26
September 10, 2014

Millville by the Sea opened in mid-June, and sales staff say the community is setting a new standard at the beach.

"The sheer number of visitors we've been seeing, between 80 and 85 a week, is really outstanding," sales manager Gina DiMaio said. "There's so much interest."

Located south of Route 26, off Roxana Road, the community has seen a dozen home sales in less than six weeks and more than 500 potential buyers touring the development.

"We’ve sold 12 of these houses since opening in the middle of June, and I’ve got to believe that puts us very close to a top-seller at the beach," said Dale Hall, vice president of operations at Miller and Smith home builders, one of two builders responsible for the style and format of homes in Millville by the Sea.

One reason for the immediate success of this community may be the process and progress of completion, Hall said. While not all of their 85 units have been sold, amenities such as the resort-style pool, clubhouse, playground and wellness center are already operational.

"The community building, the pool, the wellness center and a crab shack were all completed, and they opened at the end of April," he said. "The community that we are selling is directly across the street," he said. "It's such a big benefit –  when you go to sell the house, you don’t have to be selling what may be coming in the future."

Miller and Smith homes at Millville by the Sea are available in three models, the Sundancer, Waverunner and Beachcomber, Hall said. They range from 1,685 to 2,175 square feet, up to four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

Christopher Companies, the other single-family home builder at Millville by the Sea, is offering five different models in Millville.

All homes at this property feature an attached two-car garage.

Each home from Miller and Smith features a screened porch off the kitchen and open layout, he said, which makes the space seem more expansive.

"That main living space is what you go there for and what you see," Hall said. "That's why so many people think this product's square footage is so much larger than it actually is."
