Edward H. Henry, Vietnam veteran

Edward Hudson Henry, 69, of Milton passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. He was born June 17, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of the late Charles A. and Olive E. (Kenney) Henry.

Mr. Henry served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was talented in wood carving, and enjoyed playing poker and traveling to new destinations. Mr. Henry was also an avid World War II history buff. Most importantly, Mr. Henry was a family man who adored his grandchildren and would spend all of his available time with them.

Mr. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Ann (Grattan) Henry; two daughters: Julie Buckel and her husband Lee, and Katie Peery and her husband Jim, both of Kent Island, Md.; a brother, Charles D. Henry and his wife Barbara of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Darlene Stockdill of Butler, Pa.; and four grandchildren: Ryan, Patrick, Alyssa and Max.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, in the chapel at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
