Rehoboth VFW donates to Delaware Veterans Home

Six members of the three segments of Rehoboth VFW Post 7447 visited the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford Dec. 22 and presented a check for $3,500. The funds, raised during a golf tournament, made the perfect Christmas gift for the veterans home.

State and Federal funding only go so far, and there are so many expenses that remain to be met.  The support of local community groups and especially the ongoing support of veterans' organizations are critical.

The group from the Rehoboth VFW visiting the Nursing Home consisted of Post Commander Bob McGinnis and Past Post Commander Jack Ward, Men's Auxiliary Treasurer Rich Morgante and Parliamentarian Ed McHale, and Ladies Auxiliary Trustee Stephanie McGinnis and Patriotic Instructor Barbara McGowan.

As one of the nursing home staff said so well, "If only we could fill our tree with this kind of ornaments!"
