Trial date set for former Ravens cheerleader

Molly Shattuck charged with rape of 15-year-old boy
January 7, 2015

A former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader charged with having sex with a 15-year-old boy in Bethany Beach will face trial Tuesday, March 23, in Georgetown.

Molly Shattuck, 47, was present at a case review in Delaware Superior Court in Georgetown Jan. 7 but left after receiving word her case will go to trial, Shattuck’s attorney, Eugene Maurer, said his client was very upset by the charges.

With media from Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Delmarva crowding the courthouse, Shattuck, clad in a black jacket, was whisked away after arrangements were made so she would not face TV cameras. In a frigid January wind, Maurer spoke outside to the press, but he said little about the case.

Shattuck is the former wife of Constellation Energy CEO Mayo Shattuck. She was indicted on charges of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors. Delaware State Police said Shattuck and her 15-year-old accuser met in Baltimore and the relationship culminated at Shattuck’s Bethany Beach vacation rental home over Labor Day 2014. At the home, police said, she served alcohol to minors and had a sexual relationship with the 15-year-old.

Nearly a decade ago, Shattuck became the oldest Ravens cheerleader on the squad at age 38. She has also written a book on healthy living and released a workout video.
