Elementary Division Indoor League Week Six

The league resumed play after a week off for the Disney Showcase and StarBurst defeated the Destroyers by a final of 5-2. StarBurst took a 4-goal lead in the opening half when Lily Ashby scored her three goals and Caroline Griffis added her goal. The Destroyers got into the cage with goals by Kelly Bragg and McKenna Boyle in the second half. Carrie Clausius finished off the scoring for StarBurst with her goal laste in the second half. The win pulled StarBurst into a tie for the division lead with one game to play next Sunday.

ShoreWaves surfed to the win behind the scoring of Kenzie Brown to earn a 3-0 win over the ShoreShooters. The DeStars continued to stay in the race for the top two teams with a 6-0 win over the CrazyEights. Sommer Dorman (2), Maddie Long, and Lori Sapp (3) scored for the De Stars. In an exciting defensive battle, the DeDeterminators and SuperSeven ended in a 1-1 result. Emma Lehman scored for the DeDeterminators while Sam Connors had the SuperSeven goal.

The division finishes play on Sunday, February 22 with games beginning at 12:30. First and Second Place medals will be awarded after the end of the 2:00 game. Team photos will be taken at the end of each game on Sunday.

 

 

Senior Division Indoor League Week Six

In the quarter-final game between Fuhr and McGloin, Fuhr defeated  McGloin by a final of 6-1. The half-tyime score was 2-1 with Taylor Smith and Vienna Iacona scoring for Fuhr and Carey Karl earning the goal for McGloin. In the second half Kaila Hindt, Cammie Smith 92), and Katie Fuhr had the goals for the winners.

The second quarter-final game was a back and forth battle that team Gooch finally won over Team Medd. Amanda Sponaugle (4), Katie Shockley, and Lexi Gooch did the scoring for the winners while Maci Long (2) and Rylee Pettyjohn (2) had the goals for Medd.

In the semi-final game between the #1 seeded Hagan team and the #4 seeded Fuhr team, team Hagan earned the overtime win when Lisa Williams scored on the last shootout attempt. Both teams were tied at the end of the opening half when Williams had the goal for Hagan and Cammie Smith had the Fuhr goal. In the Shoot out Laci Bayley put Hagan in the lead but Taylor Smith temporarily tied the game before William’s winning score.

The second semi-final game took two rounds of shoot out before Staley earned the win. The regulation game was an exciting back and forth scoring battle ending with a goal by Lindsay Willams with two second remaining to move the game into the shoot out round. Noelle Sabbagh Anna Stancofski (2), and Anna Steiner (2) also scored for Staley, while Erin Carey, Lexi Gooch, Samie Jacona, Amanda Sponaugle (2), and Rachel Carey had the Gooch goals.

In the first shoot out round, Lexi Gooch open the scoring, but Anna Stancofski matched her with a goal. Marcella Sabbagh then gave the lead to Staley but Amanda Sponaugle put her team back into a tie. In the sudden victory round, Paige Ludwicki put Staley on top with her effort as the first shooter but Lexi Gooch countered with a goal.  Anna Steiner scored to give the lead back to Staley but Sponaugle scored again to tie the game. Marcella Sabbagh finally closed out the win for Staley with her first goal of in the semi-final.

The championship game between Team Hagan (#1 seed) and Team Staley (#2) seed will be played on February 22 in the Milton Elementary School Gym with a game time of 4:30. The game will be played in two 20-minute halves with the medal presentation immediately afterward.
