Elementary Division Indoor League Week Seven

StarBurst earned a 1-0 victory over the ShoreShooters with a goal by Caroline Griffis midway through the second half. In the second game of the afternoon, the Destroyers defeated the CrazyEights by a final of 5-0. McKenna Boyle (3) and Kelly Bragg (2) scored the goals for the Destroyers.  The third game of the afternoon was a thrilling 2-2 tie between SuperSeven and ShoreWaves. Raegan Ciabattoni scored early in the game to give SuperSeven the lead of 1-0 going into halftime. Kinzie Brown scored midway through the second half to put ShoreWaves into a temporary tie before Ciabottoni again gave the lead back to SuperSeven with 3:25 remaining in the game. Brown earned her second goal with 15 seconds left to pull ShoreWaves back into the tie. In the final game of the division for the winter, DeStars defeated DeDeterminators 3-0. Sommer Dorman, Lily Manlove and Lori Sapp did the scoring for the DeStars.

The division championship went to StarBurst over the Destroyers when the tie-breaker procedure was applied after both teams tied with identical records of 5-1-1. StarBurst had previously defeated the Destroyers thus the head to head win gave the title to StarBurst.

In other notes, McKenna Boyle lead the league in scoring with 16 goals, Raegan Ciabottoni followed with 10, and rounding out the top four were Kelly Bragg and Lily Ashby with 7 goals apiece.
