Dan Bongino to speak at fundraising dinner April 25

Republican Women's Club to host former Secret Service agent and author
April 9, 2015

The Sussex County Republican Women’s Club members expect to set a record at its 6 p.m., Saturday, April 25 spring fundraiser dinner in Georgetown. The evening's keynote speaker will be former Secret Service agent and best-selling author Dan Bongino. A VIP champagne reception will take place at 5:15 p.m. before the three-course dinner begins.

Bongino’s public service career began with the NYPD in 1995. He joined the Secret Service in 1999. In 2006, Bongino entered into duty with the elite Presidential Protective Division during the administration of President George W. Bush, and he remained on protective duty with President Barack Obama.

Upon resigning from the Secret Service in 2011, Bongino began a grassroots campaign for the U.S. Senate in Maryland against the state’s deep-rooted Democratic establishment. Despite overwhelming odds, he defeated nine opponents in the Republican primary and finished second in a three-way race in the general election.

In 2014, Bongino ran for the U.S. Congress against a first-term Democratic opponent who had recently defeated an incumbent Republican representing the district by an incredible 21 points in a newly gerrymandered district designed for easy Democratic victories. In a race that was universally declared uncompetitive, Bongino won the race on Election Day, yet lost the election over the coming days by just one point as the absentee ballot count was finalized.

Bongino provides expertise on international security and political strategy for outlets such as Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. His political and leadership experience and commitment to liberty will bring inspiration to the Republican base in Delaware.

Dinner tickets are $65. VIP admission to dinner and the champagne reception cost is $100. RSVP to Mary Kredensor, SCRWC11@gmail.com. Payment should be mailed by Friday, April 17 to SCRWC at 29L Atlantic Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970. For more information, go to www.scrwc.net.
