Kelly Sheridan, safety director
Kelly Krixer Sheridan, 66, a 15-year resident of Millsboro, died at home Saturday, May 16, 2015, of brain cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. (Bud) Sheridan and Shirley Ann Sheridan; as well as his sister, Connie Sheridan. Kelly is survived by his loving wife, Mary Zorbach Sheridan; his sisters, Cheryl Frederick and Coleen Sheridan; and brother, Budd Sheridan.
Kelly was born July 17, 1948, in Baltimore, Md., and called Hampden his home for 18 years. He studied printing at Mergenthaler Technical Institute and served his apprenticeship at The Daily Record. He proudly served in the Air Force as a member of the 135th Air Commandoes. For 18 years, he and his wife Mary were owners and managers of Kelly's, A neighborhood Place, in Fells Point, Md. Most recently, he was a driver, trainer and safety director for Dutton Busing in Millsboro.
Kelly was a member of Bay Shore Community Church, the Christian Motorcyle Association, The American Legion Riders, Post 26 and though he was a member of the Sheridan-Hood American Legion Post in Hampden, he called Post 19 in Laurel, Md. his home turf.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m., at Bay Shore Community Church, 36759 Millsboro Highway, Millsboro, followed by fellowship and an outdoor celebration of his life at Kelly's home, under the big top.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Four Paws Animal Hospital, P.O. Box 789, Seaford, DE, his partners in caring for Kelly's special pets while he worked to find forever homes for so many homeless cats over the years.
