Summer League Week Two, June 25, 2015

Elementary Division

On Monday, Chloris defeated Auri on a first half goal by Rachel Carey, for a 1-0 victory. Gaia and Iris played to a 0-0 result in the second game of the evening. The first game on Wednesday saw Chloris and Hemera battle to a 1-1 tie. Rachel Carey scored for Chloris while Madison Short tallied for Hemera. In the nightcap, Iris defeated Auri on Leah Sheridan’s second half goal.

The division resumes play on Monday June 29^th with Henera vs Auri at 5:30 followed by Gaia and Chloris at 6:15.

Current standings in the Elementary Division:

Senior Division

In Monday night’s first game, Hera defeated Athena by a final of 3-1. Abi Kane and Lola Messick (2) had the goals for Hera while Anna Stancofski had the solo tally for Athena. In the seond game of the night Caroline Judge scored the tying goal with 16 seconds remaining to pull Venus into a 3-3 result with Demeter. Melanie McCloy and Paige Ludwicki (2) did the scoring for Demeter while Taylor Smith had a pair of goals for Venus.

In Wednesday’s opening game, Carly Dmiterchik’s goal at the 5:08 mark of the second half game Hera a 3-2 win over Aphrodith. Abi Kane and Lexi Woodruff had goals for Hera while Anna Harrington and Julia Hollenbeck scored for Aphrodith. In the final game of the week, Athena nad Venus tied, 2-2. Anna Stancofski had the goals for Athena while Kayla LaVere and Stacey Staley scored for Venus.

With one night to go in the first half, Hera has the first half championship locked up.

Monday night’s games have Aphrodith vs Athena at 5:45 followed by Demeter and Hera playing at 6:45. All games are on the turf at Champions Stadium in Lewes, DE.
