Summer League Week Three, July 2, 2015
Elementary Division
This week was a string of ties in the Elementary Division. Hemera and Auri battled to a 0-0 result to open the week and then Gaia and Chloris also duplicated the effort with a 0-0 result in the second game.
On Wednesday, the ties continued with Chloris and Iris playing to a 1-1 result. Emily Wells scored for Chloris while Beth Fannin had the goal for Iris. The final game of the week was another 0-0 result between Gaia and Hemera. Three teams are currently tied for the lead in the division with two weeks remaining in the schedule.

Senior Division
In Monday’s league action in the Senior Division, Aphrodith defeated Athena by a final of 6-0. First half goals by Sydney Ostroski and Amanda Sponaugle were enough to take control of the game. Sponaugle, Vienna Iacona (2) and Kelly Smith did the goal scoring damage in the second half for Aphrodith.
Even with Hera’s lost to Demeter by a final of 3-1, Hera was able to capture the division championship for the first half of the season thus earning a spot in the championship game on July 20th. All scoring in the game came in the opening half for Demeter as Lorin Donovan, Paige Ludwicki, and Marcella Sabbagh found the goal cage. Kaleigh Cordrey had the goal for Hera midway through the second half for Hera.
In Wednesday’s games Hera rebounded for a 4-1 victory over Venus. Madi Irwin game Venus the short-lived lead with a goal at 10:26 but Kaleigh Cordrey countered at 6:30 and Abi Kane got the game winner with 4:50 remaining in the half. Cordrey and Mia Carulli finished out the scoring for Hera in the second half.
