Summer League Week Four, July 10, 2015

 

Elementary Division

 

 

Current standings in the Elementary Division:

No string of ties in the division this week! Hemera opened with a 2-0 win over Iris to start the week off. Grace Wiggins had both second half goals for Hemera to earn the win. In the second game on Monday, Auri defeated Gaia by a final of 2-1 in a back and forth game. Madeline Pepper gave Auri the early lead with her first half goal. Courtney Bayley scored for Gaia in the second half for a short-lived tie before Kathryn Wyshock got the game winner for Auri.

On Wednesday, Gaia bounced back with a 2-0 win over Iris and Carrie Clausius had both goals for Gaia, one in each half of the game. Finishing out the week, Auri defeated Chloris by a final of 1-0. Isabella Guarino tallied the game winner.

Senior Division

Opening the Senior Division week, Aphrodith earned the shutout over Venus by a final of 3-0. Vienna Iacona had the game winner in the opening half and then Marissa LeGates and Brittany Betts finished off the scoring with second half goals. The second game of the night was a 1-0 win for Athena over a short-handed Demeter team.

Wednesday’s opening game had Venus tally two goals in each half to defeat Demeter by a final of 4-1. Hailey Sidibe and Madi Irwin had the first half goals before Candace Gaull got one back for Demeter midway through the half. Irwin and Cami Smith then each scored to earn the victory. To finish out the week, Hera beat Athena 2-0. Lola Messick and Ryleigh Elliott did the scoring for Hera.

The league finished play during the week of July 13th with both divisions still tightly contested.
