Dewey Beach Lions to host pancake breakfast Aug. 9 during Dewey Beach Buddy 5K Run
The Dewey Beach Lions Club will continue its pancake breakfast tradition from 8 to 10 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 9, in support of the annual Dewey Beach Buddy 5K Run, which starts and finishes at the Lions Club clubhouse on the bay at 115 McKinley Ave. (next to Northbeach).
The breakfast, which consists of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, coffee and juice, will be prepared and served by Dewey Beach Lions members, and is free to registered runners of the 5K race. Not a runner? Not a problem. The cost to non-runners is just $8 for adults and $4 for children.
Race proceeds benefit Best Buddies Delaware and the Boardwalk Buddy Walk. Both organizations work within the community to raise awareness for individuals with cognitive disorders. Cost to register is $25 in advance or $30 the day of the race, and includes an event T-shirt, breakfast and awards. To register to run, go to www.bestbuddiesdelaware.org/events.
