The Historic Lewes Farmers Market celebrated its ninth annual Tomato Festival Aug. 8. Twelve local chefs partnered with 12 farmers to create tomato recipes on location. Starting at 9:30 a.m., market-goers lined up to taste the creations.
Participating chefs included Hari Cameron from a(MUSE); Lion Gardner, Blue Moon; Aaron Berg, The Buttery; Kevin Downing, Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats; Bill Clifton, Henlopen City Oyster House; Ian Crandall, Kindle; Ted Deptula, Lewes Yacht Club; Sean Corea, Nage; Gary and Elaine Papp, Palate; Maurice Catlett, Fish On!; Drew Lopuski, Striper Bites; and Anthony Marshall, Dewey Beer Company.
Maureen Miller from the Lewes Public Library conducted a children's reading hour in the Old Schoolhouse and rub-on tattoos and face painting was available.
