Chris Sylvester joins Davis, Bowen and Friedel's Milford office
Davis, Bowen and Friedel Inc. announced that Christopher Sylvester, EI, has joined its Milford office. Sylvester brings nearly seven years of experience as a traffic engineer to the firm. Prior to joining DBF Inc., he provided a wide range of traffic engineering services to the Delaware Department of Transportation.
Sylvester is a University of Delaware graduate, and his work emphasis has been on scoping and conducting traffic engineering studies to review and evaluate the functional and safety aspects of existing conditions, evaluate alternative solutions and propose recommended improvements for consideration and implementation.
His previous responsibilities included participation in the DelDOT Planning Development Coordination scoping and review process of traffic impact study/traffic operational analysis submittals, traffic signal justifications studies and review of subdivision entrance plans. He also contributed to the development of the 2012 Delaware Traffic Calming Design Manual, acted as DelDOT’s resource person for the AASHTO U.S. Route Numbering Database and most recently served on the 2015 Walkable Bikeable Delaware Summit Planning Committee.
Along with his engineering efforts, Sylvester ran for Delaware state representative for the 28th District in 2012. As a precursor to his political activities, he served his homeowners association by holding various officer positions including president, and he assisted in founding the Delmarva Rugby Club as well as serving as treasurer for several years. During his spare time, he and his wife enjoy crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay when they’re not busy completing home renovations at the family farm.
“We are excited to have Chris join our team,” said DBF principal W. Zac Crouch, PE. “His traffic engineering background and experience with the Delaware Department of Transportation is exactly what we need to expand our Traffic Engineering Department.”
