Tunnell and Raysor announces A. Dean Betts as associate attorney

Tunnell and Raysor PA has announced A. Dean Betts Jr. has joined the firm as an associate attorney,

Betts is the lead counsel for the Domestic Relations Department at Tunnell and Raysor. Betts is a Sussex County native, born and raised in Seaford, and the youngest of six children. He graduated from Seaford Senior High school in 1983 and attended college at Virginia Tech, earning a bachelor of arts degree in 1987. Thereafter, he attended the University of Maryland School of Law and received his juris doctor degree with honors in1990 and was admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1990.

Betts served as a judicial law clerk for the Superior Court of the State of Delaware in and for Sussex County and then became a deputy attorney general for the state in October 1991. Betts served both as a civil deputy attorney general, representing state departments, boards and agencies, and as a criminal deputy attorney general, prosecuting criminal cases in all the Delaware trial courts.

In 1997, Betts joined the law firm of Betts and Beauregard PA in Georgetown, a firm established by his father, A. Dean Betts Sr., Esq., in 1953. Upon the investiture of Betts’ sister, the Hon. Rosemary Betts Beauregard, to the bench of the Court of Common Pleas in 1999, Betts became the managing partner of the firm, which became known as Betts and Betts PA. Subsequent to his father’s death in 2003, the firm became known as The Betts Law Firm PA. Betts is proud to become part of the Tunnell and Raysor family.
