KSI is a United Way partner agency and ran its annual campaign from Oct. 7 to 21. The goal was to reach $5,500. KSI CEO B. Craig Crouch encouraged his staff to reach this goal by committing to shaving his head and beard when the goal was met. He said if the agency could raise over $6,000 he would do the shave in front of staff. Staff rose to the challenge.
KSI board member Bettie Campbell got in on the excitement and offered to do the shave for him. The boss went bald at 3:15 p.m., Nov. 4. Staff, board and the management team all got excited and involved to reach the goal by making payroll deduction pledges, contributing to a bake sale, silent auction, casual wear day and a penny war.
All efforts combined totaled $6,190.52 to be donated to United Way of Delaware on behalf of KSI. For more information, go to www.ksiinc.org or call Alicia Hollis, director of community relations, at 302- 422-4014 Ext. 3015.
