The Buttery to feature Eve Stuart photography

Reception set for Dec. 6
November 13, 2015

The Buttery in Lewes will present the work of New York photographer Eve Stuart in a special exhibition beginning Sunday, Dec. 6. An opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6.

Stuart is a lifelong New Yorker who has studied at the Philadelphia Museum College of Art, the School of Visual Arts and The International Center of Photography. She has shown in numerous group and solo shows in New York City and Long Island, and at the Detroit Museum of Art and Pierre's in Bridgehamton, where she was invited to speak at a meeting of the Photographers East Group. Her work is in a number of private collections. Stuart's work is beautiful in an other worldly way, using familiar devices and images that often convey hidden meanings leading the viewer to create stories and reveries around the subjects.

“A passion for art has informed my life,” said Stuart. “I come to photography from an artist’s background and thus see things from that vantage point, with an artist’s eye. I strive for a dreamlike, ethereal lyricism, filtering images into evocative glimpses of a serene and gentle world, a more beautiful and less hurried time.”
