Sussex Academy inducts National Honor Society members

During a ceremony held Nov. 9, 23 Sussex Academy students were inducted as new members of the National Honor Society.

The students, selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character, were Chloe Anderson, Nicholas Barrish, Kierstin Blatzheim, Jared Brown, Claudia Carey, Benjamin Davis, Antonia DeBastiani, Janie Elder, Tessa Elling, Edalis Gonzalez Soto, Kellie Heinlein, Bailey Hesson, Mia Kwan, Padraig Loftus, Lindsey Perez Perez, James Riddle, Yiorgos Rigakos, Cooper Shawver, Parker Shawver, Claire Sullivan, Julio Tijerina, Rachael Weidman and McKinsey Zepp.

Sussex Academy is a tuition-free, public, charter school in Georgetown. It is currently serving grades 6-11, and grade 12 will be added in fall 2016. The school practices an expeditionary learning approach, and all grade 11 and 12 students will be enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program.
