Georgetown-Ellendale VFW Post 2931 presented Sussex County Habitat for Humanity Development Director Jay Gundy with a check $8,352 to benefit Sussex Habitat’s 2015 Veterans Build. This gift comes as Veterans Build 2015 nears completion. Sussex Habitat dedicates a home for a deserving veteran that is built by volunteers, AmeriCorps members and community partners in conjunction with other local veterans and military groups.
This year’s recipient, Oscar Gonzalez, a disabled combat veteran, has won the hearts of staffers and volunteers alike. “We can’t wait to dedicate this home with Oscar and his family,” said Gundy. “And it’s generous gifts like this that make it possible. We so appreciate everyone who has contributed time, money, and materials to this year’s Vet Build.”
