Worcester Prep students collect gifts and food for the needy

At the Thanksgiving assembly Nov. 24, students heard from guest speaker the Rev. Bonita A. Nsah, mother of WPS senior Jeremiah Nsah of Salisbury, Md. More than 500 WPS students collected canned goods, nonperishable food and monetary donations to purchase meat products for the Annual Food Drive sponsored by the WPS Student Government Association. All donations were given to seven distribution centers in Maryland and Delaware. The holiday spirit was in full swing at Worcester Preparatory School the past month. Santa Claus stopped by the Lower School Dec. 3 to collect gifts for needy families in the surrounding area. More than 300 wrapped gifts were given to Dena Holloway, president of Santa House Inc., a nonprofit charity organization in Worcester County that serves hundreds of families and thousands of children a year.
