The Cape wrestling team finished fifth out of 15 teams at the Battle at the Beach wrestling tournament at Indian River High School Dec. 28-29.
Vinnie Diego placed second, Cory Lawson garnered third place and Max Norquest took fourth. Anthony Caruso, Jose Ascencio, Chris Handlin, Holden Kammerer and Julian Medina each finished in fifth place. Justin Wright finished sixth and Billy Ott placed eighth.
"Overall we wrestled well," said Cape coach Chris Mattioni. "I am pleased with our performance."
The Vikings will travel to Sussex Central Wednesday, Jan. 6, to grapple with the Golden Knights.
