ServSafe food handling course set in Georgetown March 5
For those who work in or employ people who work in the food industry, a ServSafe certification course will be held in from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 5, at the Small Business Development Center in Georgetown.
Food handlers in Delaware are required to be ServSafe certified.
The ServSafe food handler program is a complete solution that delivers consistent food safety training to employees. The program covers five key areas of basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross contamination and allergens, time and temperature, and cleaning and sanitation.
The final part of this course is an examination that will take place that day. Those who successfully pass will earn their five-year national certificate. It is being co-sponsored by the Delaware SBDC and Delaware State University/Center for Enterprise Development.
