Preston Automotive breaks ground on Millsboro dealership

April 21, 2024

Preston Automotive Group team members celebrated one milestone and turned their eyes – and shovels – toward a new beginning.

The automotive dealership group with locations in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia broke ground on its newest Ford and Lincoln dealerships in Millsboro March 27. The groundbreaking occurred on the 10th anniversary of the group’s acquisition of Boulevard Ford Lincoln of Georgetown and Boulevard Ford of Lewes.

Once construction is completed, the current Boulevard Ford Lincoln of Georgetown dealership will be relocated to Millsboro. The footprints of the two new locations are on the property adjacent to the original Millsboro Auto Mart, which now houses the standalone Jeep showroom on Dupont Boulevard in Millsboro. The Preston Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership is also on this expansive campus, and it’s likely to buzz even louder once Ford and Lincoln join the lineup.

“Ten years ago today, I walked into Boulevard Ford Lincoln of Georgetown after we had just completed the purchase,” said David Wilson Jr., Preston Automotive Group CEO and president. “I overheard a customer saying, ‘I will need to check with the Preston Automotive Group before I accept your offer,’ and I walked over, extended my hand and said, ‘As of this morning, I am excited to say that Boulevard Ford Lincoln is a member of the PAG family of dealerships.’ We are feeling that same kind of excitement today as we break ground here in Millsboro,” Wilson said.

Boulevard Ford in Millsboro is positioned to be a pivotal hub of activities for local motorists. The 42,000-square-foot facility, in addition to offering new Ford models and preowned vehicles, will also house a massive Ford service center containing 30 service bays, including eight dedicated to commercial vehicles and five detail bays. The Lincoln dealership, meanwhile, will carry the refreshed Vitrine concept and design themes, which call for oversized floor-to-ceiling glass windows for greater visibility of the luxurious Lincoln models illuminated at night and deluxe interior finishes synonymous with the Lincoln brand image.

“As we break ground on these two new facilities, we also look back on how much this area has grown over the last 10 years,” said Wilson. “We are so excited to have been a part of growth and part of the future here. The Ford store can handle all personal and business needs in both sales and service, while the new Lincoln Vitrine showroom will showcase all the luxury Lincoln owners want.”

The Preston Automotive Group currently boasts eight total Ford dealerships. The group also sells Lincoln models at perennial Top 100 Ford Dealer Preston Ford (Hurlock, Md.) and Boulevard Ford of Lewes. The group owns a total of 26 rooftops selling 23 brands, which also include Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Wagoneer, and a slew of lawn and powersports brands such as Can-Am, Gravely, Kawasaki and Honda.
