Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland
As August begins, the local events calendars are becoming busier and busier with great local events and festivals planned throughout the region.
We have a wide assortment of things to tell you about for this coming weekend, from an international sporting event near Fenwick Island to a couple of local peach festivals, some worthwhile charitable events, and a whole lot more.
If you want to get out and about over the next few days, there's certainly no shortage of opportunities throughout Delaware and Maryland.

Senior League Softball World Series (August 4-6)
The elimination rounds of the 2023 Senior League Softball World Series take place this Friday to Sunday at the Lower Sussex Little League Complex in Roxana.
The annual 10-team tournament is held every summer in southern Delaware with six teams representing different areas of the United States and one team each from Latin America, Canada, Asia-Pacific, and Europe-Africa.
The quarterfinals kick off at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, with the semifinals beginning at 5:30 on Saturday and the championship game scheduled for Sunday, August 6, at 7 p.m.
All games will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.

Ocean City Taco Festival (August 5-6)
This year's Ocean City Taco Festival is planned for Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6, at the Ocean City Convention Center on Coastal Highway.
While the more than 20 taco and food vendors highlight the festival, there's also much more planned for this weekend in Maryland's favorite summertime playground.
Other activities and events include lucha libre wrestling, a hot chili pepper eating contest, an axe-throwing trailer, live entertainment, a kids' fun zone, and much more.
Tickets to the taco festival range in price from $14.99 to $64.99 and children 10 and under are admitted for free.

Wyoming Peach Festival (August 5)
The 2023 Wyoming Peach Festival is scheduled for this Saturday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Held on Railroad Avenue in downtown Wyoming, the annual festival will feature craft and food vendors, children's activities, a community parade, and plenty of peach-themed desserts and treats.
Free shuttle buses will be running to the festival from both W.B. Simpson Elementary School and Wyoming United Methodist Church.
