Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland
The Summer of 2023 may be winding down, but there's still plenty of time to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors both at and near the fabulous Delaware and Maryland beaches.
And this weekend provides plenty of opportunities for doing just that, from a three-day event on the beach in Dewey to beer festivals, the shore's largest African-American festival in nearby Seaford, and the conclusion of the always popular White Marlin Open in Ocean City.

Zap Pro/Am World Championships of Skimboarding (August 11-13)
This signature event features three days of world-class skimboarding in Dewey Beach and is always a fan favorite in the summertime resort.
Running now for four decades, this multi-day event attracts more than 100 of the world's top skimboarders to compete in Dewey Beach each year.
The heat schedule will be posted online here the night before each competition, but festivities are scheduled to kick off on the beach at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the world-class skimboarding, other scheduled activities include a Project Kudos Beach Chill Zone, live music, a Skim USA fundraiser at Ivy, and an after-party on Sunday night at Nalu.

Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival (August 12)
The 2023 Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival will be held this year on Saturday, August 12, at the Ross Station Event Center in Seaford.
Scheduled to run from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., this African-American cultural festival features live music, native food, exhibits, special presentations, a car show, a 5K Walk for Change, and much more.
This is the 26th year for this popular multi-cultural festival and celebration of the African-American community.

White Marlin Open/Marlin Fest (August 7-11)
The 2023 White Marlin Open concludes this Friday, August 11, in beautiful Ocean City, Maryland.
Hundreds of anglers have again been competing for the top prize this year at one of the world's top fishing events.
Weigh-ins are continuing through Friday at the Harbour Island Marina on 14th Street Bayside from 4 to 9 p.m. each day.
Join in on the fun at this year's Marlin Fest at the Ocean City Inlet, a family-friendly beach party that includes entertainment, vendors, beach activities, great food, and more.
