‘Chicago is My Kind of Town’ show set at Sydney’s Nov. 28
A performance of “Chicago is My Kind of Town” by singer Holly Lane, pianist John Flynn and author Lisa Graff is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Sydney’s Restaurant and Lounge., 16388 Samuel Paynter Blvd., Milton. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Based on the third chapter of Graff’s memoir, the show is set in 1978-79 at Northwestern University in Chicago.
“Lisa wanted to become an actress when we first met,” said Ray Graff, Lisa’s husband. “And she has never given up on her dream.”
Graff has chronicled her early life in “Everything I learned in life, I learned as a waitress,” which debuted with the Gone Boys in September 2022. Her second chapter, “The Education of Moi,” about her role as a resident assistant at Frostburg State College, garnered three performances and full audiences in 2023.
“I’m so lucky to work with singer Holly Lane and pianist John Flynn, and now we have a wonderful and larger venue at Sydney’s Restaurant and Lounge,” said Graff. “Their food is awesome!”
Cost for the show is $10 cash at the door.
