‘Addams Family Musical’ to continue at Sussex Academy Nov. 5-6

November 4, 2021

Sussex Academy High School performances of  “The Addams Family Musical” will continue at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6, at the school at 21150 Airport Road, Georgetown.

The comical feast features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met.

And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife Morticia. Everything will change for the family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

The cast stars junior Jackson Whitcomb as Gomez Addams, senior Leilani Anupol as Morticia and junior Holly Calloway as Wednesday Addams. Sophomore Nicholas Donati, junior Luke Stutzman, freshman Alex DeEmedio and sophomore Matthew Bickham round out the rest of the Addams clan as Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Grandma and Lurch, respectively. Also making appearances are sophomore Erin Morgan playing Cousin Itt, and freshman Elaina Marsch portraying Thing. More than 40 high school students are involved in the production, both onstage and behind the scenes.

Snacks and drinks will be sold at the performances. There also will be a Death by Chocolate silent auction.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Cost is $10 for adults, and $5 for students and children.
