‘Hank the Unhappy Great Blue Heron’ signing set Aug. 5

Bethany Beach Books will host children’s author Chris Fedorka Tomalin as she signs her newest picture book, “Hank, the Unhappy Great Blue Heron,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 6, at 99 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach.

Hank is very sad. Unlike the many birds who live in flocks in Delaware, Hank lives alone. Slowly, he begins to make a friend with a young lad who fishes near him every day. Hank works patiently to develop a trust in this boy. The book, written for ages 3-9, opens an important discussion with young ones about friendship and trust.

Tomalin's bird book series also includes “Oscar, the Obstinate Osprey” and “Sammy, the Sagacious Owl.”
