‘Last Murder at the End of the World’ author to appear May 27
Author Stuart Turton will sign copies of his latest book, “The Last Murder at the End of the World,” from 2 to 5 p.m., Monday, May 27, at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.
“The Last Murder” takes readers to a utopian island off the coast of Greece, where 122 villagers and three scientists live in perfect harmony following the end of the world. There is no violence and no murder, but every day a threat looms large: a deadly black fog hovers at the edge of the horizon, only held at bay by the mysterious exertions of the three scientists. When one of those scientists is discovered murdered, the villagers are shocked, not only because it has shattered the rules of their guileless community, but because the murder has triggered a series of events which have lifted the shield that holds the fog at bay. They must solve the murder within 107 hours, or the fog will destroy everything and everyone.
