‘Lost Delaware’ authors to discuss work Aug. 15

August 8, 2024

Authors Rachel Kipp and Dan Shortridge will discuss their new book, “Lost Delaware,” at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Lewes Public Library. Co-hosted by Browseabout Books, the event will also stream live online via Zoom.

Kipp and Shortridge will reveal how the First State has been shaped by both colonial culture and modern industry. Tales of airplanes and auto plants, breweries and bridges, cows and churches provide insight into the state's many communities, including its Black heritage. Readers will learn about fallen hospitals, long-ago lighthouses, crumbling mansions, demolished prisons and darkened theaters.

Registration is required, and participants will be asked to select virtual or in-person attendance when registering. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Kipp and Shortridge are a husband-and-wife writing team with nearly 40 years of combined experience in journalism and public relations.
