‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ to be screened at Milton Theatre April 19

Audience members can get ready to swing their swords, hold on to their Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch and beware the Black Knight, when Revival House screens "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 19, with full audience participation. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music by Tyler Greene, art from Kristin Aquariann and drinks from Beach Time Distilling. The film will start at 7 p.m.

For more than 40 years, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" has been spreading medieval mirth and merriment to the masses with its iconic take on the fabled Arthurian legend.

Revival House will present a sing-, quote- and chant-along screening of the film, where participants are encouraged to come dressed in their finest peasant attire, shiniest armor or perhaps as Tim the Enchanter, and not only view the film, but be a part of it.

The Revival House gang will get things started for guests by providing coconuts (flown in specifically by unladen swallows) and provide scripted handouts packed with all the best bits to serve as a starting point.

Audience members are encouraged to get up, chant, sing and follow along on their own quests and join the Revival House gang for this very special screening.

Local psychedelic rocker Tyler Greene will kick off the evening on the main stage at 6 p.m. Hailing From Millsboro, Greene has performed at the Milton Zombiefest, LoDel Live and Kelly's Logan House in Wilmington. Influences include MGMT, Pink Floyd, Gorillaz and Animal Collective, which can all be heard on the tracks of his EP "With an E."

Local artist Kristin Aquariann from Ogre's Grove will also be on hand with a sampling of some of her finest fantasy crafts. Aquariann dabbles in everything from colored pencil prints to jewelry, greeting cards, phone cases and even tote bags. Beach Time Distilling from Lewes will serve its signature leisurely refined spirits during the evening, with a number of drinks crafted specifically for the event. Visitors can also choose from more than15 beers, seven wines and, of course, Maine Root root beer, a proud sponsor of the Revival House.

Originally released in 1975, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" remains the highest-grossing British film in the U.S. It has been consistently listed as one of the best comedies of all time by several publications, and spawned the long-running Broadway musical "Spamalot." It was the first foray into film by the Monty Python comedy troupe, and its legacy is almost as enduring as the King Arthur legend which it spoofs.

Tickets are $10, and $5 for students and seniors. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a number of local brews, snacks and specialty drinks created just for the evening available.
