May 29, 2012

Albert and Alice Fox of Rehoboth Beach will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, June 7. Both were born and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., and met through the youth group at Kingslawn Presbyterian Church, where they were married n 1952.

Their journey took them to Ridgewood, N.J., where they lived for 37 years, raising three children: Denise Fox of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Kevin Fox of Emerson, N.J.; and Christine Fox, DMD, who lives in Lewes. Their four grandchildren are Anthony, Lia, Alyssa and David.

Al worked for 40 years at the United Nations, climbing the ladder from the printing presses to become chief of publishing. He retired in 1989.  Alice stayed home with Denise, Kevin and Christine during their formative years, taught guitar, and later owned and operated a craft store, The Cross Stitch Den in Midland Park, N.J.

Al and Alice wanted to retire to someplace near the water and moved to Rehoboth Beach in 1996. They have traveled extensively and will be enjoying a cruise to Norway this summer.
