All Saints' and Saint George’s family services continue Oct. 5, 6
The Episcopal Parish of All Saints' Church in Rehoboth Beach and Saint George's Chapel in Harbeson continues to look at innovative ways to engage and accommodate busy families with young children.
After a summer hiatus, the children and family casual service will resume at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6, at St. George's Chapel Parish Hall, 20332 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson. The services are held in addition to the regular 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship that meets year-round in the historic 1734 colonial chapel. All are welcome to the attend the brief, relaxed, come-as-you-are service. A religious instructional component based on scripture is built into the service led by the Rev. Shelley D. McDade, parish pastor. Special music is provided by parishioner Mark Barbone. Pre- and post-service craft activities are led by parishioner Tracey Burton Housel, with light, healthy snacks also served before and after. There is no charge to attend, and all are welcome.
At All Saints' Church, casual services are held at 5 p.m., Saturdays, at 18 Olive Ave. on the beach block in downtown Rehoboth, along with regular services at 8 and 10 a.m., Sundays. Plans are in progress to resume Sunday morning Christian education for children of all ages. Timing will be based on responses reflecting the majority of parents’ needs and availability.
