American Legion Auxiliary national president to visit Delaware

The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Delaware will host ALA National President Trish Ward from Thursday, Oct. 17 to Monday, Oct. 21, during a stopover in her year-long nationwide tour to call on community members.

Ward will have the opportunity to learn about veteran support efforts in Delaware and see the Iraq-Afghanistan National Memorial - Remembering Our Fallen exhibition in Lewes.

Ward is a member of John P. Hand Unit 250 in Louisburg, Kan. She is elgible for ALA membership through her father, John M. Brusati, and her grandfather, Edmund S. Lindberg. Her father served in the U.S. Amy in World War II, and her grandfather served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

In her professional life, Ward retired in 2023 as senior lead project manager at Lumen, a global technology and information systems company. She holds bachelor’s degrees from both the University of Southern California and the University of Kansas. Ward’s hobby is studying parliamentary law, and she is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians.

During her visit, she will also have the opportunity to visit the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover and meet with legion family at several posts.
