Ann Dickerman Chambers, devoted homemaker, volunteer
Ann Dickerman Chambers, 95, of Lewes, passed peacefully in her sleep Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at The Moorings at Lewes. She was born June 27, 1929, in Elizabeth, N.J., daughter of the late Robert and Madolyn Dickerman.
Ann was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed a rich and fulfilling life. She married George Wilson Chambers Jr., and together they raised a family. Ann had a deep love for sewing, knitting, and crocheting, and found great joy in these crafts throughout her life. She was especially proud to chaperone her sons' high school band trips, enjoying watching them perform, and supporting their dreams and life pursuits.
A longtime member of the Iselin Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Ann also gave back to her community as a volunteer at Beebe Hospital after retiring to Lewes. She found great satisfaction in helping others and connecting with people.
Ann is survived by her two sons, Gregory and his wife Gayle of Urbanna, Va., and Jeffrey and his wife Elizabeth of Hockessin; her four grandchildren, Amy and her husband Nathanael of Annapolis, Md., James and his wife Katherine of Andover, Mass., Kathryn of Newark, and Haley of Hockessin; and her three great-grandchildren, Elias, Alison and Austin.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Ann will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to family will be remembered with affection and gratitude.
