A woman was killed March 31, when she was pinned by a truck in the Rehoboth Mall shopping center parking lot off Route 1 near Rehoboth Beach, fire officials say.

The fatality happened about 8 a.m. when a Dodge Ram was backing onto the sidewalk to load mulch at a store in the shopping center. Police said Antonia Walton, 66, of Rehoboth Beach, was standing behind the truck intending to help guide the driver.

The driver of the Dodge, a 76-year-old Rehoboth Beach man, was not injured.
