March 30, 2025

A Millsboro man faces a DUI and drug charges after a police stop March 28 near Oak Orchard.

Police pulled over Brandon Myers, 38, at 7:10 p.m., as he left the Royal Farms parking lot and entered Mount Joy Road because the passenger-side headlight was out and Myers was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

Police said Myers appeared to be drowsy, and the trooper saw drug paraphernalia in the center console. A search of Myers’ pocket revealed several waxed bags suspected to contain heroin, police said. The trooper administered a field sobriety test, and Myers was taken into custody without incident for driving under the influence. During a search of the vehicle, police said they found 105 bags (about 3.15 grams) of heroin and additional drug paraphernalia.

Myers was taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with felony possession of controlled substance tier 2 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs, and not properly wearing a seatbelt. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and released on a $7,875 unsecured bond.
