Ann M. Miller, fought the good fight

March 20, 2023

Ann M. Miller of Millsboro passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born May 5, 1941, in Springfield, Mass., to her late parents Francis B. Votava and Geneva R. (Voudren) Votava.

Ann grew up in West Springfield, Mass. As a teen, she moved with her parents to Delaware upon her father’s appointment to Dover Air Force Base. She then resided in southern Delaware until the Lord took her to be with him.

Ann was a gifted seamstress who worked for many years at Milford Stitching until she had to change careers due to industrial allergies. She went on to be a rural letter carrier in the Milton area, where she was completely devoted to her customers. Ann then transitioned into a part-time lab tech position at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, where she thoroughly enjoyed both her work and her coworkers. After a few years in this position, she deservedly retired, completing a total of nearly 50 years of hard work. Ann not only had many years of full-time jobs, but she also had a full-time job providing love and charity for her family, friends, and the poor. A few examples of the type of comfort she provided were hugs, kisses, sage advice, skillfully crocheted hats and blankets, giving food to homeless people, and donating to Joyce Meyer Ministries. Notably, every aspect of her full life on earth had the Lord’s guidance.

Ann will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Robbie Setzer, who went to be with the Lord in 1989.  She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Setzer; her son, Tim Setzer and his wife Sheila; her daughter, Debbie Hicks and her husband Ross; her daughter, Cindy Hosier and her husband Dave; her daughter, Trish Morgan; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements will be private and handled by Short Funeral Services of Milton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Delaware Hospice.
