Annie Lee Bundick Trammell, family matriarch

November 1, 2021

Annie Lee Bundick Trammell passed away peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. Annie was born to the late Hezekiah and Hattie Moore Bundick June 12, 1934, in Exmore, Va.

Annie grew up in Nassau where she received her early education in a two-room schoolhouse 198-C in Belltown. She completed her education at the William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown. Mom, Mom-Mom, Grandie, Peek-A-Boo, Aunt Ann, Ann Lee, Ann or Miss Ann, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, everyone she came in contact with loved her. She was a kind and gentle person; she always greeted you with a smile.

Annie began her spiritual journey at an early age at John Wesley U.M. Church Belltown. Later she became a member at St. George’s A.M.E. Church Lewes, under the leadership of the Rev. Luther Walker Jr. She was on many committees, stewardess and trustee board, The Millie Lockwood Missionary Society and sang on the Senior Choir. Annie felt the need to be close to her sister at Bethel A.M.E. Church Milton, so she decided to join her and she became a full member Dec. 9, 2018. Annie loved the Lord; early mornings you could see her sitting in her living room reading her devotions and meditating, that was before she had her breakfast.  She let her light shine every day for many to see. At Bethel, Rev. Dr. Iola Williams and her members appointed her as one of the mothers of the church with a certificate Jan. 13, 2019.

Annie was awarded a Certificate of Recognition at one of the Belltown Reunions as being one of the original residents. Annie was the last matriarch of the family.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; son Wayne; and 11 siblings, three brothers, George, Charles and Willis, and eight sisters Dorothy, Catherine, Olivia, Edith, Elizabeth, Susie, Virginia and Odelia.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Deborah; two sons, Kermick (Lillie) and Vaughn; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Otiere Duffie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
