Georgetown Arts & Flowers held its annual student art show reception March 22 at Georgetown Public Library. The standing-room-only event included members of the Arts & Flowers committee, teachers, parents and Georgetown Mayor Bill West. The show featured artwork by students grades in kindergarten through eighth grade from North Georgetown Elementary School, Georgetown Elementary School and Sussex Academy.
Awards were presented for first, second and third place, along with six honorable-mention ribbons. All participants received certificates and a small gift. First-place blue ribbons were given to seventh-grader Nick De Emedio, fifth-grader Zac Glasco and first-grader Cameron Evans. Second-place red ribbons went to Shannon Scudder, eighth grade; Erica McDaniel, fourth grade; and Tony Escalante Roblero, second grade. Receiving third-place white ribbons were Eva Navitskaya, seventh grade; Alexis Morales, third grade; and Salma Peres Morales, first grade.
