Antoinette Bieber, loved her family

March 5, 2022

Antoinette Bieber, 77, known as Toni by friends and family, and affectionately as Gug by her sisters and their families, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Osceola Mills, Pa., daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie (Palewitz) Yokobosky.

Antoinette lived in Rehoboth Beach with the love of her life, Harvey, her husband of 53 years, having formerly resided in Lake Ariel, Pa., and raising her family in Great Neck, N.Y. In addition to taking care of her family in Great Neck, Antoinette had also been employed by Great Neck North High School, where she made countless lifelong friends.  After relocating to Delaware, she enjoyed meeting new homeowners, working at both Country Life Homes and Gemcraft. Family was extremely important to her, and she always put the needs of her family first.  Besides her family, Antoinette’s next greatest love was for animals. Whether feeding birds or other wildlife, or finding homes for strays, she always had a special place in her heart for their care.  Above all, Antoinette cherished time spent with those she held most dear, especially her adored grandchildren, whose visits were the highlight of any day.  A wonderful and nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother, she was loved by many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Antoinette is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Harvey Bieber of Rehoboth Beach; her children: Paul Bieber of Millsboro, and Kim (Bieber) and Lewis (Brian) of Camden; her grandchildren:  Jenny Moyer, Marissa Bieber, Brendan Lewis, Natalie Lewis, and Eric Lewis; her great-granddaughter, Melody; and her sisters: Cecilia (Yokobosky) Buckeye and Virginia (Yokobosky) Wray.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Antoinette’s family.

Final care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her favorite charities:  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105; Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE  19963; or First State Animal Shelter and SPCA, 32 Shelter Cir., Camden, DE  19934.
