Art League of Ocean City seeks online exhibit entries by April 6

April 1, 2020

In response to the coronavirus shutdown, The Art League of Ocean City, Md., will host its inaugural online exhibition during April. Area artists are encouraged to enter their artwork digitally by 4 p.m., Monday, April 6.

This show is open to all media. Artists may choose their own theme and enter up to two images of their work.

John Mosher, the art league’s Orem and Harriet Robinson Fellow for Contemporary Art and Engagement for 2020, will jury the entries and award cash prizes to the winners. If accepted, the artist’s work will be featured on the art league’s website and social media during the online exhibition Friday, April 10, to Thursday, April 30.

The cash prizes, funded in part by a grant from the Worcester County Arts Council in Maryland, are $150 for first place, $100 for second place, $75 for third place, plus three honorable mentions. The art league will present an additional Best in Show Award of $200 in honor of the nonprofit’s corporate partners. All award winners will be invited to participate in the year-end Best of 2020 exhibit during December.

Only two images of original artwork will be accepted from each artist, and images must be high-resolution. Artists must be 18 years or older. The artwork submitted must have been created in the past three years and never before shown at an art league-judged show.

The fee per entry is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

To submit artwork, go to www.artleagueofoceancity.org/artwork-online-entry.
