Cape’s sophomore baseball player Austin Elliott doesn’t know if he’s a position player or a pitcher, but the state’s coaches voted him a first-team all-state outfielder and honorable mention pitcher, in case he needs help making up his mind.
“College coaches have looked at me and I think they like me in both places,” Elliott said in a recent interview. “I just have to continue to improve and stay healthy, and then there’s hitting the top players wherever the position are expected to hit.”
Cape’s Zack Gelof was selected to the second team as a shortstop. Zack has already exchanged a verbal commitment with the University of Virginia, and the Cavaliers also like him as a pitcher and position player.
