Barbara L. Bunting, former Rehoboth secretary

We mourn the sudden passing Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, in Hopewell Township, N.J., of Barbara L. Bunting, 80, the loving mother of Aimee (Bunting) Stearns, James C. Bunting and William L. Bunting III; devoted grandmother of Hannah Stearns, Marissa Bunting and Andrew Bunting; sister of Rita Buttolph and Truda Schleifer.

Born in Princeton, N.J., the daughter of the late Louis and Ruth Schleifer, Barbara attended Penn State University and Rider College. Recently retired, she worked in Manhattan for many years as a legal executive secretary and in Rehoboth Beach for the city manager for the past 12 years.

Barbara enjoyed making beautiful counted cross stitch art that has been enjoyed by family and friends over the years. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean islands. Since retiring, she spent many hours restoring a large garden, which brought her much satisfaction. She was a good listener, a good friend and a generous, caring and dependable mom and grandmother. Barbara was especially known for her kindness, warmth, and unrelenting good nature, as well as her skill as a superb baker.

Her family gathered for a private memorial.
