Bay River Homes is new Beracah Preferred Builder

Newly-updated model located west of Lewes
July 1, 2013

Bay River Homes has re-opened the Model Home and Sales Center and is the new Beracah Home Preferred Builder serving Coastal Sussex County.  The newly updated model is located at the corner of Route 9 and Joseph Road (across from Steele’s Gun Shop) and formerly the site of Henlopen Homes.

Beracah Homes has a network of builders that serves varying areas across Delmarva; Bay River Homes is replacing Henlopen Homes as Beracah’s builder to serve the Lewes, Rehoboth, Milton and surrounding coastal Sussex communities.

The Bay River Model Home is located at 18427 Joseph Road, Milton, and features a 2,100-square-foot Cape Cod style home. “We wanted this model home to have similarities to what customers see at our model home in Greenwood,” said Mark Leishear, vice president of sales and marketing for Beracah Homes. “Our team worked for several weeks to give this model an interior overhaul.”

The home is a custom-built hybrid, combining the elements of two Beracah models - the Wellbourne and the Oakley.  The interior features a colonial-coastal theme and showcases several options and/or upgrades offered from vendors that Bay River is partnering with - Millman’s Appliances, That Granite Place and Alarm Engineering to name a few.  Customers can use the Bay River model to completely design and outfit their home.

“It is a one-stop building experience,” said Leishear. “Customers can go from concept to completion in one location.”  Leishear mentioned that many customers typically start their home designs with existing Beracah models, then customize their home to their specifications, but that Bay River additionally has the technology to draw (from scratch) custom floor plans in house.  This 3D design software also enables customers to virtually walk-through their home before it is built.

Buddy Millman will serve as general manager and field supervisor at Bay River Homes and Brian Lehmuth as their resident new construction specialist.  Millman has a 25-year history with Nanticoke Homes and has been working with Beracah for more than five years.  He is leaving his position as service manager at Beracah to help facilitate the new Bay River office.  Lehmuth additionally is coming to Bay River from the Beracah office in Greenwood.  There, his role involved sales coordination with Preferred Builders, and model home and factory tours.

“Buddy is extremely knowledgeable in building design and science, and brings a wealth of experience in off-site, stick built construction to this area” said Leishear “Brian is exceptional at customer relations, detail and follow-up; together they will make a great combination to those looking to build a Beracah Home or commercial business.”

Beracah Homes began operations in April 2003 utilizing a 120,000- square-foot factory in Greenwood, to build “off-site, stick built” homes.  This phrase was popularized by then CEO Wayne Collision, whose vision for Beracah was to replicate and deliver true stick framed construction - only built indoors.
